Tommaso Schettini
I am Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical, Industrial and Aerospace Engineering (MIAE) at Concordia University, where I joined the faculty in August 2024. My research develops optimization methods for sustainable transportation, with applications in metro scheduling, electric vehicle infrastructure planning, and simulation-based optimization. I received my PhD (cum laude) from Politecnico di Milano in 2021 and held postdoctoral positions at Politecnico di Milano and HEC Montréal / GERAD before joining Concordia. My research is funded by an NSERC Discovery Grant (2025–2030).
Research areas: demand-driven transit scheduling · EV charging infrastructure · discrete simulation-based optimization · integer and combinatorial programming
Prospective Students (Fully Funded)
I am actively recruiting PhD and MASc students with backgrounds in operations research, mathematical optimization, or a related quantitative field.
